If you are a subscriber to our YouTube channel, you have likely seen some of our maintenance videos, whether that is for our Porsche 987 or our recently purchased Subaru WRX/STI (GV). In the videos following this short introduction, Eric walks you through the process of changing the spark plugs, installing our AVCS Cam Sensor Heat Shield, and a simple transmission/differential fluid change on our STI.

In this video, Eric installs our AVCS Cam Sensor Heat Shield for EJ25 equipped Subarus.  You may be wondering what this has to do with maintenance.

Due to the location of the factory shield and the proximity to the hot exhaust header, the factory plastic shield cannot stand up to track days or will melt over time. This can lead to potential issues with the AVCS. We installed our AVCS Cam Sensor Heat Shield because our car did not even have the factory unit installed. Eric installed our heat shield in order to prevent the AVCS from developing any issues in the future. We believe preventative maintenance is key to increasing the engine's longevity.

Before hitting the track with our WRX/STI, Eric wanted to do a complete fluid swap to make sure the car was ready to handle track abuse as well as running normal daily errands. In the above video, Eric demonstrates the process he takes to swap the transmission and differential fluid on our shop car.

Replacing spark plugs can be a pain, especially if the engine in question is a horizontal engine like that of the EJ25. In our most recent video segment, Eric shows you what it takes to replace the old spark plugs in our shop Subaru WRX/STI without having to pull or lift the engine.
