GRIDLIFE Driver Sets Personal Best With Verus Wing, Excited for 2027
A driver who embodies the community spirit of GRIDLIFE racing set a personal record using a Verus Engineering wing and is looking for more in 2027. Despite battling gremlins throughout the 2026 season, Kevin Vue posted his personal best lap at his home course of Road Atlanta with a time of 1:36.137. Last year, he won a Special Stage event at the same track with a time of 1:37.425.
“Even having their wing on my car is a huge success already,” Vue said. “I definitely felt a big difference between this wing and the previous one. Being able to measure the angle of attack and having confidence knowing the wing’s going to stay together is big. You can tell it’s a very solid construction.”
BMW M3 Wing Customized for DC2 Integra
Vue competes in GRIDLIFE’s TrackBattle Time Attack series in the Falken Club TR Class. He drives a K24A2-swapped, right-hand drive 1995 Acura Integra (DC2). The Verus wing he uses is actually for a BMW M3, but with customized uprights and mounting to fit his DC2.
Vue uses a Verus wing with uprights that allow for easy angle-of-attack adjustments.
The Atlanta-based driver and former event winner is excited to leverage his new Verus aero to more success. He hopes to add a front splitter customized to Club TR specifications and wing endplates. He previously used a three-element wing.
“Now I have a true, dialed-in wing and know exactly what the angle of attack is set at,” Vue said.

He took measurements detailing where the wing uprights needed to be and sent them to Verus. The custom job was turned around quickly - in time for the opening race at Carolina Motorsports Park in mid-April.
Family and Community Important To Atlanta Racer
The CMP event is special for Vue, as he has family in North Carolina and typically rents an Airbnb to accommodate everyone. Not only do family members attend his races, but he also has three brothers who work on his team.
Racing is a family affair for Kevin Vue (center, blue hat). The crew that keeps him moving includes Nick Vue, Pader Lee, Bobby Vue, Cha Vue, Gregory Vue, Joseph Vue, Kou Lor, and Al Benteung.
“My brothers grew up around cars, too,” Vue said. “They try not to let me touch the car. They want me to relax and just drive, although that’s not easy.”
Vue enjoys having his family by his side, but also enjoys the camaraderie and bond he shares with drivers and others in the GRIDLIFE community. He decided to do something a little different at CMP this season. He made a big pot of pho to share with other competitors and “anybody that was hungry.” Vue said the traditional Vietnamese noodle soup was a hit, especially with the cooler April temperatures.

Vue Seeking Another Win, More Top 5s In 2027
Despite his culinary chops, the 36-year-old mechanical engineer isn’t quite ready to trade his race suit for a chef’s apron. Even while dealing with axle issues, a broken steering rack bracket, and other obstacles in 2026, he still managed his personal best time at Road Atlanta and a fourth-place finish at the famed Watkins Glen International.

He sees even more success on the way. His goals for 2027 include attending more than 4 events and placing in the top 5 at each one.
When he’s not piloting his right-hand-drive DC2, a rarity in the GRIDLIFE World, he enjoys spending time as an instructor for Jzilla Track Days.
“I love sharing the knowledge and watching people grow as a driver,” Vue said. “I do a lot of ride-alongs to make sure drivers are safe, and when they want to move up to a different class. The main thing we stress is safety.”
Vue is planning a few more modifications before the 2027 season and looks forward to getting more track time before the weather turns. He plans to drive at the Jzilla Track Days Friendsgiving Event at Barber Motorsports Park on Nov. 21-22.
