OVERVIEW

The Verus Engineering Hood Louver Kit helps reduce engine bay heat and pressure. The louvers improve cooling stack efficiency, improve underhood component longevity, and can add a bump in front end downforce.  Optional wickers are included with each kit to improve the effectiveness of the louvers. We also offer rain guards for those interested.

During the design process; we wanted to utilize the OEM hood due to how light the OE unit is and to reduce the cost for owners interested in venting their hood.

This hood louver kit is for the non-gt spec S550 Mustang owner looking for a purposely placed, built, and tested louver kit that weighs less than most carbon vent hoods.

SCIENCE

Utilizing CFD, we figured out locations of low pressure on the top surface of the hood, to maximize underhood evacuation.  Relieving underhood pressure on your S550 Mustang is beneficial in a few ways.  Relieving this underhood pressure increases front end downforce; as the pressure pushing up on the hood is no longer present.  Evacuating this hot engine bay airflow also improves cooling stack efficiency and can increase part longevity for components that are heat sensitive.
