    OVERVIEW

The Verus Engineering Increased AOA (Angle Of Attack) Adjustment Kit for the Honda Civic Type R (FL5) supplements the factory wing mounts and allows for a wider range of angles of attack (AOA) with the OEM wing blade. This means more rear downforce from the factory wing, while retaining OEM looks, and OEM feel. The units bolt onto the factory wing, which are produced in-house using 3D-Printing Technology. They are offered in two angles of attack adjustments, 0 degrees and 3.6 degrees.

Utilizing state-of-the-art analysis software during the R&D process, we were able to ensure that the OEM wing improved performance by increasing the AOA (Angle of Attack). We stopped at the maximum AOA that makes sense from an efficiency and downforce stand-point. Using in-house scan data during the design process, we were able to design the wing mounts with aesthetics that follow the factory Honda Racing design language and bolt on like an OEM piece.

These units are great for owners who believe the car needs a slight bump in rear downforce to settle the car at speed. It also pairs well with our dive planes, delivering a slight bump in overall vehicle downforce, front and rear. Add performance, improved aesthetics, and function to your FL5 CTR with these simple-to-bolt-on units.

    Science:

Wings produce downforce by increasing the velocity of the airflow underneath the unit and thus decreasing pressure. The underside of the wing is where all the magic happens. By increasing the AOA (Angle of Attack), we can extract more downforce or performance from the factory wing blade.  Through CFD, we were able to find the range of diminishing returns for downforce creation and capped the increase at 3.6 degrees as a result.

This is beneficial for drivers who feel that the car is tail happy at speed on and off the track and think a slight bump in rear downforce will benefit the car's handling. These units are part of our Ventus 1 kit and pair well with the dive planes to create a balanced aerodynamic package.
